Regents set fiscal year 2026 tuition and fee rates at state universities

(Topeka, Kan.) – The Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) set tuition and fee rates for the upcoming fiscal year at the six state universities today.

“The Regents’ strategic plan emphasizes affordability for Kansas families and success for students in our institutions,” said KBOR Chair Carl Ice. “These tuition rates balance those priorities by keeping costs as low as possible while ensuring that state universities can continue to help students succeed in the classroom and in their careers after graduation.”

Under the Board’s strategic plan, Building a Future, state universities have improved student success outcomes while increasing the amount of student financial aid. On-time graduation rates have increased 10.2 percentage points in the last five years. Entry level wages for state university graduates have increased more than 15 percent since 2020, and the total amount of need-based aid grants and scholarships has grown by 28 percent.

The following table shows resident undergraduate tuition increases at the state universities for full-time students per semester for Fiscal Year 2026:

“Developing tuition and fee proposals is a rigorous process that includes many stakeholders. The Board is grateful to the state university leaders, including student body presidents and other members of the student government associations, who supported this work,” said Chair Ice.
